The assault trial of Dancehall heavyweight Mavado has been further delayed and is set for February 2013.
The case was scheduled to get underway earlier this month, but a judge adjourned the procedings because Mavado’s attorney, Peter Champaignie, is engaged in another trial.
On February 12, 2013 the self-proclaimed ‘Gully God” will return to court to face assault charges stemming from an incident which took place at the birthday party of Alliance leader Bounty Killer on June 13 2011.

Mavado, whose real name is David Brooks, was charged last year for assaulting a police officer during an alleged altercation at Kingston’s QUAD nightclub during which his friend, Conroy “Connie” Edwards fatally wounded .
Mavado has maintained his innocence.
