Police in Mandeville Jamaica have confirmed that gunmen entered the home of former Mayor of Mandeville Cecil Charlton last Thursday and robbed his wife of jewellery and other valuables. The mayor is grandfather to dancehall/reggae sweetheart Ce’Cile Charlton who is known professionally by her first name.
20 QUESTIONS: Ce’Cile Interview
According to Jamaica Observer:
Reports say bout 10:00am last Thursday, four men who had parked their vehicle at the Charlton’s residence just outside Mandeville walked into the house, which was unlocked and held Mrs Charlton at gunpoint. She was relieved of jewellery and other valuables.
Reports say an alert helper realised what was happening and locked a connecting grill door between the downstairs and upstairs section of the house. Reports say she also called the police.
The gunmen then left the house and drove away. The same four men are said to have visited the Charlton residence two days earlier, asking for someone whom they named. The men, who arose no suspicion at the time, reportedly left after being told the person they had asked for was unknown to the household.
No one was hurt in the incident and the criminals reportedly had no contact with the ailing former Mayor who was upstairs.
That is crazy!!
Mayor Charlton is a respected man in the community, Ce’cile was named after him. I’m sure this must have been a scare for the new mom.
Hope your family manages to recover from this Ce’Cile… Bless!:
