Check out some pics below of some of our favorite Caribbean-born and Caribbean-heritaged divas as they make their fashionable rounds at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. Not sure if over accessorized or frumpy is the new look for the Spring 2013 season but some of these ladies left alot to be desired with their get-ups.
Is that Alfre Woodard???? No it’s British singer Estelle. The “Beautiful Life” singer (whose Caribbean roots come from the spice isle Grenada) just had waay too much going on when she attended the BCBG Max Azria show.
Less is more Estelle, less is more. Cho man! (Photo source)
The best looking thing in this pic are the 2012 Olympic gold medals in Sanya Richards-Ross‘ hands. Oh and her nails. The Jamaica-born sprinter (who now runs for the US) will have her own reality show on WE TV. The network picked up the pilot for the show which chronicles the rigorous training schedule of the 400m gold medal-winning athlete, as well as life with her husband 2-time Superbowl champ Aaron Ross. The two were featured on the network in an episode of “Platinum Weddings”, years ago. Their to-be-title show is produced by In Good Company, the same production crew behind Tia & Tamera’s reality show. (Photo source)
Antigua-born stylist June Ambrose and her daughter Summer also made the BCBG show. Looking for stylish threads for her famous clients (and herself?) (photo source)

Caymanian supermodel Selita Ebanks is pure Caribbean sunshine in this yellow dress. Loves it! (photo source)
Beauties with Caribbean roots Jessica White (Barbados) and Dania Ramirez (Dominican Republic) sit pretty at the BCBG show.

Alexandra Burke (Jamaican roots) and her half-blonde tresses came over the pond for Fashion Week. The X Factor alum was spotted at fellow Brit Charlotte Ronson‘s showcase. (photo source)
Jamerican video vixen turned cosmetics entrepreneur Keyshia Ka’Oir (formerly Dior) sits next to Beyonce’s stylist Ty Hunter at one of the many shows held this past week. Love the contrast of her red lips and blue dress. (photo source)
…. and she wasn’t the only one to share front row honors with Ty Hunter. No ma’am.
Check out pics below of Karen Hunter the Trinidad-born PR maverick at the Herve Leger show.
