On September 28, 2010 Dominica authorities charged Sarah Lynn Augustine with the stabbing death of her two children, five-year-old Rachael Vigilant and two-month-old Sophia Vigilant.The incident, which shocked the nation, took place at their Mahaut home in the wee hours of September 16, 2010.
The young mother was incarcerated at the Stockfarm prison for some time and did undergo phsychiatric evaluation at the Princess Margaret Hospital. She showed symtoms of Post Partum Depression. In Janurary 2012 the Office of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) filed a notice of discontinuance, and Augustine who is a citizen of Canada returned to that nation where she is would be afforded medical care through their government.
Well it seems she’s got some form of freedom and able to walk the streets of Toronto and blog on YouTube as well. According to her, she wants to tell the “whole truth” about “of how a sane person can do something so insane” and has been responding to questions sent to her inbox. She says she is not angry with her family in fact it’s “purely love..that knows no boundaries” but “I am the little one, so now it feels like everytime I want to do something and mom labels it rebellion, my sister and my brother jump in and no one pretty much listens to me when I say leave me alone.” To me she very matter-of-fact, and unemotional even saying say’s she’s “cold-hearted” and “brazen” because her “heart is already in heaven.”
Most of the video clip is touches on her relationship with her mother Pastor Lena Augustine who recently said in an internview that Sarah Lynn was refferring to herself in the third person and wanted to change her name.
“My mother did not name me, my father did. So no I really didn’t wanna change it. The fact that she’s busy pointing fingers demonizing my friends, and so on, it’s really hilarious. and to tell you the truth when I told my mother what I would change my name to I thought that she would have gone straight for the whole Lil Wayne thing – I’m a huge Weezy fan and I listen to a lot of rap songs. So I thought she would’ve gone there. Never in my right mind would I thought she would attack my friend Carter and Rotaract club, wow, really, you were just proving my theory that I should probably stay the hell away from ya’ll. Cause now everybody or anybody who’s ever been kind to me is now taking a hit for this.”
Augustine claims her reason for speaking out is to save the lives of Dominica’s children because what happened to her could have happened to anyone:
“I think it’s very very serious and very important that I tell people, how a normal sane person can end up in this situation, because if you have the right type of stress you can create something terrible. This is not about my family, this is about saving children’s lives in Dominica. So yes if I have to take a quick label right quick and I have to stay on like some meds, so what? This is likes, stop letting this be everything other than what it is. It’s about me and my kids and I wanna save some kids’ lives in the process because when I found out how easy this is and that I’m not sick or bi-polar or whatever the hell you guys wanna call me, ya I think it’s time to tell every one in Dominica …”
She announced that she is was considering several educational opportunities before settling on chef school:
“See, I wanna go to school and everybody knows I love medicine, but now I can’t actually be like a treating doctor, because like this is kinda controversial. So…. there goes that. I can’t be actually be a cardiologist cause not I really don’t like seeing blood or flesh or anything like that, so there goes that. Now i wanna be a psychiatrist but I really can’t do that because my case isn’t closed and I’ll just look wicked, so now I decided fine, what can I do? Why not open a restaurant, reason being like there are a bunch of companies right now who are like they hear my story and they’re like “we’ll help you.” so I got into George Brown chef school for free.”
She ended the vlog by saying:
There’s more to stories than just what you hear, and if you never hear the person talk, be very aware. Don’t ever believe shit. THINK FOR YOURSELF.

This video below is the first of the four posted this week so far. She announced that “whoop-ass season is about to begin.” It’s in that particular video that she first hints at her issues with religion stating:
“I’ve taken meds, I’ve taken everything, shit lives have been taken. Well now its time for ya’ll to start fessing up for the shit you’ve done. And mom don’t come ontalking bout how you love me and you think Im calling myself a second name and all that shit. You know you don’t know me. If ya’ll wanna k now me ask somebody outside the church, ask the people in Mahaut, ask the people in all around. Don’t ask my mom got dam shit about me. Because everybody knows when youre in church you play the part. And I’m fed up of it. I’m tired of it and from tomorrow no one should be calling me the pastor’s daughter because I’m gonna sit here and tell ya’ll all the truth about the bullshit that goes on in the church, that makes people crazy like straight up crazy and can’t say it doesn’t make people crazy cause to tell you the truth they made like the worst psychiatric case like known to man … it’s time to sell this team out. You know ya’ll aint gonna kill more peole in Dominica. Religion will kill you and your kids so mamas and children listen up tight because this is not right.”
In “Sarah’s Diarey Pt 3” she is back to answering questions, and explains why she returned to Dominica with her first daughter and gives a glimpse into her life in Canada prior to the move.
I am not even gonna try to psycho-analyze her. I can’t even go there.
I must say it was quite a revelation to her hear say that she was raped as a child. This is Dominica’s dirty little secret- child molestation. I wonder how many people she has shaking in their boots with that accusation?
Considering the charges are dropped against her do you guys think it’s ok for her to come on facebook and YouTube to give a personal account of her story???
