Nadine Willis Opens Up To Etana On New CVM TV Show “Against All Odds”

Last night Jamaican reggae star, Etana welcomed fellow Jamaican and international supermodel Nadine Willis as the first guest on her CVM reality series called “Against All Odds”.

Willis spoke with ‘the strong one’ about her journey from the garrison to the runway. The curvy model had a difficult childhood, having been abandoned by her mother and sent to live with an abusive father at age three. She was eventually taken from her father’s home by the authorities but from a young age had to work to support herself, even as an exotic dancer. Today Nadine is a successful model and has walked Caribbean Fashion Week, been the face of campaigns for brands such as Gucci and Rimmel and been photographed by industry greats such as Mario Testino. She is now married with two daughters and works hard to ensure that their road to success is much smoother than hers.

Her story no doubt will serve to encourage persons in the ghetto who may think they have it hard and see no future for themselves. For Etana, this is the mission of the show:

“I think it is something for everyone to watch. This show will help a lot of people to look at life totally different. It will change their perspective completely, and let people see what they take for granted.”

Filming for “Against All Odds” was scheduled around the entertainer’s busy performance schedule; and with the birth of her daughter in the next month, her year is just going to get busier. This will be her second child and her first with husband Andrew Morris . Etana also plans to unveil her Better Tomorrow EP in February 2012 and will release three singles from the album: “Reggae”, “Foreplay to Love” and “Better Tomorrow”.

“Against All Odd” airs Sunday nights at 6pm on CVM TV.
