CONGRATS: Miss St. Lucia Roxanne Nicholas Wins Miss Carival 2012 Title!

Congrats to Roxanne Didier Nicholas of St. Lucia who was crowned the 2012 Miss Carival which took place in St. Vincent on Friday night. She outperformed nine contestants from accross the region who took part in the annual pageant.

Carice Glasgow of St Vincent won the first runner-up position while Davia Chambers of Trinidad secured second runner-up.


The official results are as follows:

Best in swim wear-  Carice Glasgow (St. Vincent & The Grenadines)
Best interview-  Davia Chambers  (Trinidad & Tobago)
Best evening wear- Kalia Huggins (St. Kitts & Nevis)
Best talent Roxanne Didier-  Nicholas (St. Lucia)
Miss Community spirit- Olufunmike Majorie Bands Devonish  (Anguilla)
Miss Congeniality-  Astrid Andrena Hidalgo Martinez (Venezuela)
Miss Photogenic-  Charlene Christmas  (Barbados)

There were contestants from Dominica, Dominican Republic and Jamaica as well.

The longstanding pageant was held under the theme ‘Miss Carival 2012 – 27 Years of Exquisite Pageantry – 1985-2012’.

St. Kitts’ Iantavian Queeley, took her final walk as Miss Carival 2011-2012 before crowing her successor.

The First Citizens Group Miss Carival Beauty Pageant is to foster greater linkages and bonds between the many islands, to encourage contestants, chaperones and persons attending the pageant to return to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and to showcase the beauty and diversity of Caribbean young women.

Shout out to Miss Dominica and Miss Caribbean World Nadira Lando. She did not place but represented for Dominica and the Kalinago. Contestants still have the try at another regional title. Miss Jaycees Caribbean will be held in Antigua in a few weeks.
