Lebron James and his Miami Heat teammates showed their support for Trayvon Martin by posting a pic of them outfited in matching hoodies. The 17 year old Martin was shot dead by a neighborhood watch leader, George Zimmerman, as he was returning home from a store in Sanford, FLorida unarmed. He was wearing a hoodie while carrying only Ice Tea and a bag of skittles, however the neighborhood watch leader thought he looked suspicious.
Zimmerman, who claims self-defense, has yet to be arrested for shooting Trayvon because (so far anyhow) he is protected by Florida’s ‘Stand Your Grown’ law AKA “Shoot First, Ask Questions later’.
King James tweeted a photo of the entire squad wearing hoodies with the caption:
#WeAreTrayvonMartin #Hoodies #Stereotyped #WeWantJustice
Dwyane Wade also changed his profile pic to one of himself in a hoodie and tweeted:
“#hoodies, #steretype #TrayvonMartin”

Trayvon was shot on Feb 26th and US President Obama has finally given in to pressure and issued an official statement on the shooting which he called “a tragedy”. The president said if he had a son he would look like Trayvon, this drew harsh criticism from GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich who said that the comment was “distasteful” and “divisive”.
