Rumors have surfaced that Rihanna invited Katy Perry to stay with her in Barbados following her split from Russell Brand. The two vacationed there together in 2009 (see pic above).
The 23-year-old Bajan native who organized Perry’s bachelorette party before her wedding to comedian Brand, is said to have reached out to the star in the wake of the news that their marriage had come to an end. Katy who spent Christmas in Hawaii called Rihanna and suggested coming to the Caribbean however sources say Rihanna (who’s been a rock to the devastated singer) suggested an all girls escapade to Mexico.
Even after just 14 months of marriage Russell Brand (worth about £11million) stands to make $20million from his divorce from pop star wife Perry (at least £45million ) based on California’s 50/50 laws. Brand announced on Friday that the couple’s marriage was over after they spent Christmas apart and his lawyers filed divorce papers at Los Angeles Superior Court citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ between the pair who met at the MTV Music Awards in September 2009.
Many suspected the couple were having problems when Katy spent the Christmas break in Hawaii and without her husband who has been staying at London’s Savoy Hotel. She returned to California in time for New Year’s.
